Computer Networking HND will cover important computing areas of networking and security. You will study specialist areas including subjects in; Computer Forensics, Ethical Hacking and Networking.
Computer networking with security and forensics is one of the fastest developing branches of the new technologies industries. There is a huge demand in the industry for network professionals with salaries starting between £30,000-£50,000+. During this course you will develop an essential understanding of Networking for Home and Networking for Small Business. You will be introduced to Internet Service Provider (ISP) routing and switching which is used in the designing and support of computer networks. The course uses CISCO Network essentials and an additional CCNA certificate in this can be gained alongside your main studies. This course will prepare you for further studies in computer systems and networks at university degree level or employment within the computer networking industry.

How the course is assessed

- The course is mainly assessed on your practical skills
- There will be some written assignments and multiple-choice tests
- The Graded Unit for year one is an exam and for year two is a project
- At interview you will be asked to take part in a Skills and Experience screening exercise this will be on a computer.?
- Please bring along any qualification certificates

Progression And Articulation Routes

- You can progress into the second or third year of general Computing degrees taught at various universities
- You can progress on to year three of BSc (Hons) Computer Systems and Networks at Edinburgh Napier University
