Business with Finance HNC will provide a breadth of competences. This course will extend the range of competencies covered in the HNC. It aims to:
- enable candidates to consider and revisit core business issues and develop a depth of understanding from a managerial perspective in the Business and Financial world
- further develop organisational and investigative skills
- promote the development of transferable skills in planning, organisational and
- evaluation and enable the candidate to investigate business issues and problems in-depth
- provide an advanced entry point to an organisation
- facilitate speed of progression within an organisation
- promote an advanced level of entry to further academic or professional qualification
- develop the underpinning knowledge which supports SVQs
You will study core subjects within business with additional subjects in financial services and accounting.
On successful completion of this course you will achieve the HNC Business award.
The majority of our courses will be delivered online only for the beginning of 2021. A limited number of courses will have classes on campus. You will be contacted by your lecturer if your course will include any face-to-face classes on campus.

Applicants must have achieved one of the following:
- Relevant National Qualifications or National Qualification Group Awards (SCQF level 5 or 6)
- Any two relevant National Qualifications at Higher level together with three National 5s or above in a relevant subject area (Business management, Maths, English, Accounting, Science, Modern Studies, History, languages)
- One SVQ at level 3 in a relevant subject area
- Relevant work experience
