Level 6 Modern Musicianship, delivered at our sector leading
facilities in CRE:8 at our Milton Road campus is an innovative, project-based
course, designed for you to develop both creative and technical knowledge and
skills and progress onto our HND in Music at CRE:8. You will explore all
areas of modern musicianship including performance (bands and solo), session playing,
song writing, studio musicianship, the music industry, promotion, and applied
music technology. The course has a commercial focus and aims to begin
developing your identity as a practicing portfolio musician, integrating
practical development with the related portfolio of skills to compete in the
global music industry.You will be taught by highly qualified, industry accredited
lecturers and learn about all aspects of the global music industry. The course
prepares you for further study of music and sound production at HE level and
has excellent progression opportunities, particularly onto our HND in Music at
CRE:8. Through these intermediate classes you will gain an understanding of
what it takes to progress onto a rewarding career in this competitive industry.
You will engage in a range of projects and events that will allow you to apply
your skills in real world, industry focussed contexts.

How the course is assessed

The course is mainly project-based.
You will be assessed continuously through a range of projects, performances and
portfolio work.
All applicants will be expected to attend an audition and interview
which may include a listening test.

This course specifically designed for progression onto the HND in Music at CRE:8. Progression onto HND Music or HND Sound Production is also possible depending of area of specialism/ability.
