Welcome to the Jewel & Esk Students’ Association! As a student at Jewel & Esk you become an automatic member of the Association. You can keep up with us and what’s going on in college on Facebook and Twitter and our website – so why not take a look now and find out more?
The Students’ Association isn’t just about parties and events (although they’re always good!). We also work closely with the NUS nationally and are part of their campaigns on issues such as tenancy, childcare, citizenship and student funding, among other things. Jewel & Esk students are currently involved in a pilot Scottish Carbon Ambassador Project which is funded by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) and co-ordinated by NUS Scotland. Jewel & Esk is one of only 2 Scottish colleges to be involved in the pilot.
The Students’ Association is here to help you with course issues and also with any personal matters.
I really want to encourage any of you who do decide to study at Jewel & Esk to participate in the Class Rep System. We are looking to improve the way students feed back and what kind of response you get, so that any student issues are indentified early in the year – beneficial to everyone I’m sure you’ll agree!
