If you only need to access the following programmes as part of your role, you do not need to log in to the College's Remote Desktop Services (RDS) as these can all be accessed via a web browser. Using this work-from-home option would support the College greatly by releasing pressure on its Remote Desktop Services.

Wellbeing and safety advice for staff working from home
Keeping in contact and keeping up-to-date
It is vital during any period of campus closures, or reduced class contact, that staff and their teams maintain good contact to ensure positive mental health and to support the continued daily business of the College.
The College will continue to support and communicate with all staff throughout this period.
All staff should continue to read their emails and check this page for updates on COVID-19.
It is important that you continue to follow the advice provided by the Government and public health agencies during this time to keep yourself and others protected.
Health and Safety
For members of staff that work from home the following points should be considered:
Managers – Managers need to ensure that home workers have sufficient equipment and training to work from home. Remember, if the College is closed they will not be able to collect any additional equipment or supplies. Managers should also regularly check on their staff that will be working from home. This can be done via email to establish if your team members have any issues with working from home.
Display Screen Equipment (DSE) – When using any form of DSE which includes laptops, pads / tabs, phones or peripherals i.e. mice and keyboards the set-up and environment must be created to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries. Consider where and how you are sitting, heating, lighting and the general environment that you are working in. It is strongly recommended that you take frequent regular breaks. Where possible, try to replicate the good practices carried out when working in the College.
Electrical equipment – When using issued equipment from home ensure that it has been electrically tested within the recommended period. Before use, visually inspect the equipment. This will assist in reducing the risk of electrical shock and fires.
Daily Routine - Routine is an important part of our lives. When that routine is broken (for any reason), it can confuse your internal clock, motivation and engagement. Remember that your job has not changed – you are just doing it in a different place. Making sure you keep this as your central focus will help greatly as you start to embark on your day.
